The Perfect Tweed Blazer?

“But we don’t live in a world of absolutes!!”
Of course we don’t, that’s why I added that question mark. That being said, I think this beauty is pretty damn close. It’s no surprise that it’s from Gant By Michael Bastian, a brand that I have lauded repeatedly (read: obnoxiously) on this blog and will continue to do so. It is a brand so consistently awesome I’d kill a handful of strangers with little to no remorse to have a closet full of their duds. The necessary loss of roughly 50 lbs in order to wear the aforementioned closet full of sweet gear would be another challenging matter entirely. But I digress…
Put simply, like everything he puts his no doubt luxuriously moisturized hands on, Basty crushes this blazer. Seriously, the guy’s clothes are always so awesome I pretty much am beside myself at this point. Part of GQ’s new monthly capsule selects for Nordstrom, this blazer is the platonic ideal (except I like it much more than a friend) of what I feel a tweed blazer should be. Cut in the perfect modern proportions, the gray/brown herringbone tweed is set off by the striped cotton lining and leather buttons. The plaid elbow patches are the delicious icing on the preposterously awesome cake. Modern romancing traditional in the best way possible. Wear this bad boy with everything from your birthday suit (hopefully not in public you creep) to dark denim or chinos. Paired with slim, dark jeans, and a clean, white button up or gingham shirt (and a knit tie if you are cool) and you’ll be a sartorial Chuck Norris not to be fucked with.
Get it at Nordstrom now. I highly recommend it. Also, can I borrow it?
